When using mastodon.acc.sunet.se, we ask that you comply with the established rules and usage policy of the Academic Computer Club (ACC) (available in English and i Svenska) and of SUNET.
Accounts on mastodon.acc.sunet.se are for personal use. Please read the code of conduct if you need clarification on personal vs. commercial use.
You may not post (or boost/repost):
It is up to ACC to make the final determination what material violates our usage policy or may damage our public relations and to take suitable action, which may include removal of the material and suspension of your account.
On Mastodon, this includes using the CW function and the #NSFW hashtag, and choosing an appropriate level of public display for your posts.
Please remember what you say on mastodon.acc.sunet.se is public and can be seen by any person on the internet, many of whom have backgrounds and values that differ from yours; take a moment before posting and think about ways your message might be misunderstood. Likewise, remember that many things you read may be written by people who have different values or backgrounds than you.
This includes compiling and posting personal information about another person, posting personal communications from a person without their permission, or sending harassing or abusive messages.
Please be considerate when programming your bots or using automatic posting services or applications, and use rate limiting and unlisted post visibility where appropriate. You may also want to consider hosting your bot on a bot-friendly instance like botsin.space.
Uncurated autoposters and newsbots posting from feed sources are not permitted.
There's not always a clear line between personal and commercial activity, especially for people who work on a freelance basis in creative and technical fields. If your account is for personal social interaction with other people, even if you're talking to people who work in your industry or sharing the kind of work you also do professionally, it's probably fine.
If your primary use for a Mastodon account is to advertise your products or services, post affiliate links, build your brand, connect with customers, or grow your audience, it's probably a commercial account and not allowed on mastodon.acc.sunet.se. If you need Mastodon for your business, why not run your own? :)
For technical issues, use the administrator contact information listed under "Contact"
For content or abuse issues:
For privacy reasons, we will not discuss abuse reports in public channels.
Our copy of the standard Mastodon privacy policy is located here.
ACC will do its best to respect the privacy of individual users, but please remember that nothing on the internet is really private and consider anything you say saved forever. Mastodon is not a secure channel for sensitive communication.
Staff may examine user accounts hosted on the association's equipment if they suspect activity that conflicts with the association's rules.
mastodon.acc.sunet.se federates with all other Mastodon and Mastodon-compatible instances in the network. Suspension is only implemented as a last resort in cases of technical difficulties or hostile or malicious activity. If we need to suspend federation with another instance, it will be noted here.

In some cases, it's necessary to "silence" another instance; this is usually due to local legal restrictions and content allowed on those instances. You're still able to follow and communicate with users on a silenced instance, but their posts will not appear in the public timelines on mastodon.acc.sunet.se. Please exercise discretion when boosting posts from these instances.
